Homemaking Personal Care
Our bonded and trained homemakers provide in-home help with routine cleaning, laundry, essential shopping and meal preparation.
Personal Care providers help to promote and maintain essential person hygiene among seniors. These services allow our friends and family the opportunity to remain in their homes, where they are happiest.
Respite
A service to provide a temporary period of relief to a family or individual by our trained staff for an ill loved one, so they may receive need rest, run errands, personal appointment, ect.

Information & Referral
This service provides information regarding various public and voluntary services and resources available in our community.
Outreach
Through our monthly “Senior Times” newsletter, The Jeffersonian’s “Seniors Alive!” column. Routine speaking engagements and use of the local media, seniors are made aware of the many services available at the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center.
Legal Services
Legal work of non-criminal nature is available upon referral from the Senior Center, local participating attorneys are used on a rotating basis to provide legal assistance and service.
This can be used for wills, estate matters, legal advise, or other non-criminal matters. There is a cost cap of $250.00 per each client.
Health Assessments
Free Blood Pressures are taken every Wednesday. Cholesterol and blood sugar exams, hearing screenings, and other health screenings are also provided by professional staff in the community.
Nutrition
Hot, Nutritious meals are provided Monday thru Friday at the Senior Center in Cambridge and Cambridge Heights Apartments in Cambridge.
Our Byesville site serves lunch Monday thru Friday at Byesville Stop Nine Senior Center located at 60330 Southgate Road, Byesville, OH 43723.
Our Londonderry site serves lunch Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Masonic Lodge located at 22577 Cadiz Road, Freeport, OH 43973.
Our Cumberland site serves lunch Tuesday and Friday at the Cumberland United Methodist Church loated at 437 W. Main Street, Cumberland, OH 43732.
Our Pleasant City site serves lunch Monday and Thursday at the Pleasant City United Methodist Church located at 400 Main Street, Pleasant City, OH 43772.
Our Old Washington site serves lunch Wednesday and Friday at the Old Washington United Methodist Church located at 118 Old National Road, Old Washington, OH 43768.
Lunch is served at 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at all our Sites and Senior Center.

Home Delivered Meals
Upon the completion of a personalized assessment, home delivered hot meals are provided 5 days a week to eligible individuals, including disabled Veterans (of any age), Passport and Waiver, and frozen meals are available for the weekends and holidays upon request. Seniors who would like to receive “Meals on Wheels”, should contact the nutrition department at (740) 439-5717.
Meals are provided on a “donation only basis.” For seniors 60 and over the suggested donation for a meal is $5.00. For seniors under 60 the required donation for a meal is $7.50.
All of our meals are planned to meet 1/3 or the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of vitamins and minerals. The menus are signed off by a Registered Dietitian to ensure this.
Don’t let special diet restrictions worry you. We will take care of all of your dietary need. We subcontract with a AAA9 appointed dietitian to provide meals to clients with special diets.
Telephone Reassurance
To insure the continued well-being of elderly individuals who are isolated or homebound, our staff and volunteers provide regular telephone contact. Should a problem occur at the senior’s home, a pre-arranged plan of action is initiated.
This program is conducted by caring volunteers who help to alleviate loneliness in many seniors lives.
Friendly Visiting
Our staff and volunteers make regular visits to seniors in their homes, at the hospital or at nursing centers. This service permits our staff to continue our interest in the individual’s welfare among senior citizens and helps alleviate loneliness.

Transportation
This program is available to all county residents 60 years and older and is designed to provide transportation to medical appointments, financial institutions, retail stores, nutrition sites, social activities and places of employment.
Our current fleet includes twelve handicap modified minivans, one 16-passanger van and two 12-passanger vans. These vehicles have been provided by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Transportation is available throughout Guernsey County (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM) Monday thru Friday and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday.
Transportation reservations are requested at least 24 hours in advance. Transportation without advance reservation are based on driver and vehicle availability. Please call 740-432-3838 for more information or to schedule transportation.
